Studio, Suite or Penthouse: Choosing Your Suite at Forseti Athena

Every suite has its own kitchen and a bathtub. Here is how the Studio, the Suite and the Penthouse differ in space, layout and guest count, and which offer suits each stay.

Every suite at Forseti Athena shares the same foundations: a kitchen with a stovetop, refrigerator and oven, a bathtub, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and a tea and coffee maker. So choosing between the Studio, the Suite and the Penthouse is not about what you give up. It comes down to how many of you are travelling, how you like a room to be laid out and how long you plan to stay. Here is how the three compare.

The Studio: one calm room for two

The Studio is 35 m² and sleeps two in a double bed. It is one open room: the bed, a seating area with a sofa and a flat-screen TV, and a kitchen with a stovetop, refrigerator, oven and kitchenware. The bathroom has both a bathtub and a shower, and the windows give a city view. It suits a couple or a solo traveller who spends the days out, at the beach or in Denpasar, and wants a well-equipped, uncomplicated room to come back to. If you would rather keep sleeping and living apart, look at the Suite.

The Suite: a separate bedroom for two

At 40 m², the Suite is also for two guests, but it is laid out like a small apartment: a separate bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a sofa and a flat-screen TV, a dining area and a kitchen with a stovetop, refrigerator, oven and kitchenware. The bathroom has a bathtub. The separate bedroom is what makes the difference on a longer stay. One of you can sleep in while the other makes coffee or answers emails, and a meal at the dining table feels like dinner at home rather than a tray on the bed. If you are staying a week or more, the extra space is worth considering.

The Penthouse: two bedrooms for up to four

The Penthouse is the choice for families and small groups. It has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin beds, and two bathrooms with a bathtub, so four people can share it without queueing in the morning. The living area has a sofa, a flat-screen TV and a dining table, the kitchen has a stovetop, refrigerator, oven and kitchenware, and the windows look out over the city. It works well for parents with two children, or for a couple travelling with two friends. If your group needs three bedrooms, or you would like to end the trip inland, the same ARM team runs Ayawana Villa Ubud, a three-bedroom timber villa with a pool among the rice fields of the Ubud area, about 42.6 km by road.

Cooking, working and slow mornings

Rates on the booking page are room only, and this is where the kitchens earn their place. Every suite can handle a proper breakfast, a light lunch or a simple dinner, and the refrigerator lets you stock up once instead of eating out for every meal.

For work, every suite has Wi-Fi. In the Suite, the dining area keeps your laptop out of the bedroom, and in the Penthouse the dining table does the same. In the Studio, the sofa is fine for an hour of emails; for longer sessions, the lounge, with its deep sofas, is a quiet place to catch up on work. A swim in the courtyard pool is a good way to close the working day.

Which offer fits which stay

For a few nights, the nightly Best Available Rate is booked on the booking page, where the rate, deposit and cancellation conditions are shown before you pay. The packages are arranged with the team over WhatsApp: 3 Days 2 Nights covers two nights in a spacious suite, the Weekly Package six nights with weekly housekeeping, the Monthly Offer a month, and the Yearly Offer a full year with scheduled housekeeping and a butler available on request. Every offer includes access to the pool and lounge and high-speed internet. As a rough guide, the Studio suits short stays and solo travellers, the Suite is the natural choice for a week or a month, and the Penthouse makes sense for families at any length of stay. The offers page lists what each package includes.

If you are still unsure, start by counting heads, then decide how much you want sleeping and living kept apart. Two people on a short trip will be comfortable in the Studio, two people staying longer will appreciate the Suite, and three or four belong in the Penthouse. Once your dates are set, the team can help you confirm the right suite.
